BSMART Development Foundation is a Bermudian Registered Charity #911

BSMART Development Foundation is a Bermudian registered charity dedicated to providing assistance to Bermuda’s children and their families in their pursuit of academic enrichment services and support. This support comes through progressive, innovating and constructive programs of neuro-developmental maturation techniques that provide the appropriate stimulation required for children to reach the optimal physiological and neurological milestones that will lead them on the road to academic success.
The BSMART Development Foundation’s mission of providing solid foundations of learning through innovative and scientifically proven brain-centered programs- along with the goal of helping at risk students increase their school readiness skills and thereby reducing the effects of socioeconomic disparities-makes us one of Bermuda’s premier educational institutions.

Our reality is that Bermuda is far behind other developing countries in terms of the recognition and implementation of neurophysiological developmental education. Many of our island’s children are struggling academically due to developmental deficits in which general educators are not trained to identify. Many of these deficits can be remedied with the appropriate knowledge of neurophysiology.
Our main strategic advantage lies in the specialized and individualized approach, recognition of the inherent gifts that often surround children labeled by the masses as having a measurable difference in the perceived timeline of development, learning acquisition and production abilities. Instead of attaching labels, the recognition of differences in learning patterns should indicate the need for varied and unique learning environments.
BSMART Foundation’s programming utilizes many resources, presentation styles, processes, learning acquisition time frames, assessment protocols, therapeutic techniques, and data collection methods; all of which is cutting edge in terms of early childhood development. Our comprehensive educational programming and services enable all children to acquire social, emotional, and cognitive skills that are the foundation for future learning.

In addition to our on-island support, BSMART Foundation also has access to and the assistance of S.M.A.R.T. program founder, Bob DeBoer, Research Scientist, Lyelle Palmer Ph.D., and additional specialists in the field of early childhood neurodevelopment.

You can make the difference in the lives of Bermuda’s young people; there are numerous ways in which you can help.
